Can I disable PHP safe mode on a Cobalt account?

The Cobalt accounts are on a shared server. For security reasons we cannot disable php safe mode. Any scripts that were using features that could only function with safe mode off will need to be modified in order to function correctly.

If you have interest in a hosting account that allows you to configure your own php settings we recommend one of our Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting accounts. You can find more information regarding our VPS hosting accounts at http://www.simplywebhosting.com.
