How can I get my "www" hostname to appear as a server alias?

Only 'A' records show up as potential server aliases. By default HSPC now sets up the 'www', 'ftp', and 'mail' hostnamesas CNAMEs to the base domain name. If you would rather have 'A' records than CNAMEs for one or all of the 'www', 'ftp', and 'mail' hostnames follow these steps in your HSPC control panel:

Removing a CNAME:

  1. Click on the System tab.
  2. Click on Domains in the Domain Management section.
  3. Click on the domain name.
  4. Click on the DNS Zone tab.
  5. Click on the CNAME record you wish to remove.
  6. Click on the Edit button.
  7. Click on the Delete button.

Adding an 'A' record hostname:

  1. Click on the System tab.
  2. Click on Domains in the Domain Management section.
  3. Click on the domain name.
  4. Click on the Hostnames tab.
  5. Click on the New Hostname button.
  6. Type the name of the hostname.
  7. If you have more than one IP address available, select the IP address for the hostname from the drop down menu.
