When you specify another mail server (cskv.speedingbits.com) to handle your mail, you have to specifically authenticate to your own server. To do this in Outlook Express 6.0 (steps are similar in other email programs) follow these steps:
- Go the Tools menu and choose Accounts.
- Click on the Mail tab.
- Click on your email account then click on the Properties button.
- Click on the Servers tab.
- In the Outgoing Mail Server section, make sure to check the box "My server requires authentication."
- Click on the Settings button.
- Select "Log on using".
- Enter your Account user name and password in the appropriate text boxes.
- Click on the OK button.
- Click on the General tab.
- Make sure "Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing" is checked.
- Click on the Apply button.
- Click on the OK button.
- Click on the Close button.
Once these changes are made attempt to send and receive mail. If you are still having problems please send an email to support@advantagecom.net including the following information:
- The email account(s) from which you are unable to send/receive email.
- A password for the email account(s).
- The name of the client email program you are using.
- A copy of any emails that bounced as an attachment. It is important that the email is sent as an attachment so that we can read the email headers.
